Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a condition that causes the cornea (front of eye) to become thinner, distorted and cone shaped. This distorted cornea leads to blurred vision that is not correctable with glasses. Special rigid contact lens materials are required, and with careful fitting can improve vision back to normal levels, which reduces the need to have corneal transplant surgery.

At Lakkis Optometry we use detailed corneal topography mapping, in conjunction with rigid contact lens fitting software, to make contact lens design more accurate and reduce the need for multiple trial fitting visits and future lens adjustments.
